Xindian National Sports Center 12/13 Trial Operation Virtual Reality Flywheel Classroom Preview

The inauguration ceremony of the Xindian Administrative Park in New Taipei City was held today. Mayor Hou Youyi announced that the Xindian National Sports Center in the park would start trial operation on December 13 and will be the first institution stationed in the park.

The Sports Department stated that the 14-day trial operation would allow the public to make reservations. It will officially open on New Year's Day next year. It will be built as a smart technology venue. The flywheel classroom will be combined with immersive projections to switch between various virtual scenes to enhance the fun of sports for the public.

The Xindian National Sports Center construction started at the end of 2018 and was officially completed a few days ago. It is located in the first section of Beixin Road and Lane 88 and is currently undergoing pre-operation work. The total floor area is about 9,700 square meters. There are 5 floors of sports space above the ground, including 25 meters indoor Swimming pool, hot and cold pools, oven, SPA pool, children's pool, badminton court, comprehensive court, snooker area, fitness center, rhythm classroom, multi-functional classroom and other facilities.

The Sports Department stated that the Xindian Sports Center would be built into an intelligent technology venue, in which the flywheel classroom combines immersive projection to provide various virtual scene switching. Besides, is equipped with heart rate wearable devices to enhance the fun of sports for the public; It Guide completes multiple pieces of training, assists in extracting data from sports, and challenges personal records.

Hong Yuling, director of the Sports Department, said that the Xindian Sports Center is expected to be officially opened on New Year's Day next year, and a sports gathering point will be established at the Sanchong Zhongxing Civic Activity Center in December. A Sanchong Kaiyuan Sports Gathering Point will be established early next year.
